About Gefen
Gefen Aviram, may he rest in peace, 9.8 years old at the time of his death, was a wise and beloved child who humbly and quietly charmed everyone who met him. From an early age he was very curious to explore and discover new things, he learned everything with great eagerness and thirst and in the process, he enjoyed playing with friends and practicing various sports: basketball, judo and wall climbing.
At the end of first grade, Gefen was diagnosed with a tumor in the head, he underwent surgery to remove the tumor and a series of treatments that lasted about a year, managing to maintain the daily routine between treatments, friends, studies, games and everything spiced with a smile and understanding that he can overcome this obstacle heroically. But, immediately after the end of the treatment, after a year, we were informed that the disease has come back.
Gefen, in his heroic way, showed determination and a fighting spirit and began new treatments that lasted another year. Alongside the treatments he continued to gain experiences and live life to the fullest with the same joy and humor throughout. For the entire two and a half years from the moment the disease was discovered until his last day Gefen was a true hero! Every treatment became an experience, and every difficulty became a party and a game.
Gefen is endowed with a relaxed character, common sense and the ability to find inner peace and mental balance in the miraculous forces that were hidden within him. For all that time he was away from the routine he loved so much, he imagined that moment when he recovers and becomes a normal child again like everyone else.
Remember that you always have the ability to look around you, be patient with someone different than you and give him or her that wonderful feeling. It’s simple and it’s possible.
